It has been twenty five years ago, that I put down my media credentials as a photojournalist and opened Victor’s photojournalism. I was captivated by my first wedding, but it wasn’t until several years later that I considered making the switch full-time to wedding photography. With the popularity of photojournalism in the wedding industry, it was an easy transition. The focus of Victor’s Photojournalism is simply to provide couples with a genuine documentary style of photography. This is how magazine/newspaper photographers have done it for years. They have been the visual historians of the day, photographing memorable moments unobtrusively and with their God given talent.
I brings with me a vast wealth of experience and an enviable reputation of client confidence. Whether photographing a large wedding or a small intimate family affair, the images I will produce are so much more than just wedding photographs. They are a personal and intimate record of the day crafted with thirty years of skill and artistry.
If you must know my journalistic background, I spent over 25 years working for three of Florida’s top newspapers (The Orlando Sentinel, St. Petersburg Times and The Tampa Tribune). My work has been published in local and national newspapers/magazines. Early in my career, I covered general news and later promoted to a permanent position as a Features Dept. Photographer. However, my greatest thrill was when for eight years I became the lead sports photographer for the St. Petersburg Times. The position provided me the privilege and opportunity to cover some of the world’s greatest events; Three Super Bowls(XXV, XXXI and XXXV), NBA playoffs, the Summer Olympics in Atlanta, NCAA Final Fours, NCAA National Championships, Hurricanes and countless U.S. Presidents campaigns and U.S. Presidential visits and speeches.
Thirty nine years ago, I proposed to my wife . When planning our wedding, hiring the right photographer was at the top of our list. As former editorial photojournalists, I know how to tell stories. Please know that I would be honored to be the visual historian of your special wedding day.
